Beautiful and highly desirable vintage 1970s Aananda Indian cotton maxi dress, with the original woven label and size 12 tag.
A gorgeous bohemian piece in soft cream, golden yellow and warm chocolate brown, featuring traditional-style block printed floral and paisley motifs throughout. The fitted yellow printed bodice is beautifully contrasted with the full, softly gathered cream cotton skirt, while the long full bishop sleeves with fitted poppered cuffs echo the skirt print.
Lovely period details include the matching printed waist trim, decorative sleeve bands and fabulous tie belt with trailing ends. Wrap style bodice with hook and eyes to the bodice, popper detail at the left ribcage, and belt ties to fasten. Fully lined skirt.
The dress has that wonderful handmade, artisanal feel associated with the sought-after Indian-inspired cotton dresses of the era. Labelled Aananda, size 12. Made in India, 100% cotton.

No flaws evident - please note block prints are printed by hand using traditional wooden blocks, resulting in the subtle variations and occasional imperfections that distinguish hand-crafted textiles from mass-produced fabrics.
